2023 marks the 200th Anniversary of Reigate Tunnel in Tunnel Road, Reigate. This unique building is the oldest road tunnel in the UK and a truly unique landmark. Reigate Tunnel was commissioned by Earl Somers and built in 1823 by William Constable.
Reigate Business Guild are celebrating this unique anniversary with a number of events including an art competition and exhibition in Reigate Tunnel which will also include a history of Reigate Tunnel. The artwork submitted for the competition and History Boards will appear in an exhibition in Reigate Tunnel from June to September 2023.
