DESCRIPTION

Gatton Park is a 250 acre historic landscape which lies within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It comprises parkland, gardens, lakes and woodland and welcomes approximately 17,000 visitors each year. Many of these visitors take part in educational activities either on school visits or as part of family-learning activities. We run events for the public throughout the year including Gatton Country Fair in July.
The stunning parkland landscape of Gatton Park was designed by England’s foremost landscape designer Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown in the eighteenth century. The last private owner, Sir Jeremiah Colman of mustard fame, added gardens which are now being restored, including a Japanese garden, the rock and water garden and the Old World Garden. The park is the home of the Royal Alexandra and Albert School and is therefore open to the public on our open days. Please check our website for details.
