About the Reigate Business Guild
Welcome to the Reigate Business Guild website.

Whether you are a Reigate Business Guild member or not, we hope that you find this site informative and useful.

Reigate Business Guild was set up in 1993. The Guild enjoys the support of some 70 organisations from in and around Reigate town centre, ranging from large corporate businesses to sole trader shops and restaurants, all individuals who care about Reigate and its surroundings.

We are a local, united, voluntary voice from within the business community, promoting commerce, safeguarding the environment, organising events and supporting activities and opportunities for the benefit of the town.

We work closely with Reigate & Banstead Council to help keep the streets clean and Surrey Police to help keep the streets safe. The aims of Reigate Business Guild are:

• To promote, enhance and protect the charming, unique town of Reigate
• To promote Reigate as an attractive place to live, work and visit, now and in the future
• To raise the profile of the town to help it remain vibrant
• To encourage networking to promote business

The town is decorated at Christmas with street lights and trees, supplied and funded solely by the Guild. Last year the lights had to be replaced at a cost of approximately £30,000. The money was raised by subscriptions, fund-raising events and the generous donations made by local businesses. Morrisons played a very important part in achieving the target.

Each Christmas, for a number of years, Reigate Business Guild has held a special Festivity Day. This year it is called The Reigate Christmas Fayre and will be held on Saturday 3rd December. Shops are encouraged to decorate their window and enter ‘The Best Dressed Window’ Competition. The winner receives a case of Champagne and a Trophy. Street entertainment is provided to add to the atmosphere of the event. Free parking is also provided by Reigate & Banstead Council.

Reigate Business Guild has also arranged for Reigate Caves to be opened to the public with the help of the Wealdan Cave and Mine Society. This has proved such a great success that tickets sell out by 11.00am. The event is repeated on several Saturdays during the course of the year and in May and September is traditionally combined with a vintage car display and a jazz band playing, all adding to the vibrancy and feel of the town.

The above is just a taster of the work of Reigate Business Guild. Ring Shirley Cox (Chairman) on 01737 246886 if you would like to join or simply require more details.
